Experience the Wax Haus Difference

Waxing can feel intimidating, especially your first time—but it doesn’t have to be. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be cared for by a professional who prioritizes comfort, education, and results.

I don’t rush treatments. Every session is customized to your skin and hair type, with extra attention to technique and aftercare. My goal? To give you the best waxing experience possible—thorough, gentle, and truly different from what you’ll find at fast-service spas.

I specialize in advanced waxing techniques using high-quality hard wax—ideal for sensitive skin and precision hair removal. My “no hair left behind” approach ensures smooth, lasting results with minimal discomfort or irritation.

Hard Wax benefits:

  • Gentle on skin, ideal for sensitive skin

  • Less redness and irritation

Common waxing Questions

Guidelines for before your wax appointment:

  • If this is your first time waxing, we recommend receiving your 1st wax 5-6 weeks before you attend a special event or go on vacation, and see how your skin reacts. If everything is fine, schedule your next wax two-three days before your event or vacation

  • The ideal length of hair prior to wax, is 1/4 inch or longer (think lower lashes length)

  • In the days leading up to your appointment, be sure to exfoliate daily the body areas we are waxing. You can use a dry brush on a dry skin or a loofah sponge, against the hair growth

  • Exfoliated skin means faster service, less irritation and less hair breakage

  • Do not get a spray tan before or right after a waxing session. It’s best to wait a few days after any waxing service to ensure your skin won’t react or break out

Contraindications:

  • Please let us know if you are using any topically or orally prescription for acne or anti-aging medications, including but not limited to: Accutane, Retin-A, Retinols, tazorac/avage, isotretinoin, prescription strength AHA's (Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic acid).

Doctors typically advice their patients to not receive any body or face waxing services. These medications can weaken the skin and lead to tearing and scarring of the skin. We regret to inform you that no waxing services will be performed on any clients using the above medications and we will need to have a phone consultation to discuss further

  • Don’t use any advanced skin care products such as Obagi, Vitamin A creams or any face prescription creams for at least 4 days before & after any facial or waxing treatment. Your skin is tender after wax; these ingredients will make your skin react and cause sensitivities

  • Don’t wax two weeks before and/or two weeks after any injections, such as Botox and Restylane.

  • Don’t get any face wax 7–10 days before & after a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or facial laser treatment

  • No waxing or facial services of any kind will be performed on clients with a cold sore breakout on the day of the appointment (Herpes simplex I)

How long does it last?

The results can last between two to three weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. Within few appointments you'll notice less hair regrowth and the hair texture will be much finer. We recommend waxing every four to five weeks.

Avoid shaving or trimming the hair between waxing appointments. Shaving disrupts the waxing results and causes the hair root inside the follicle to become thick again, making your waxing experience more painful. Shaving between waxing sessions might also cause you to have more ingrown hairs. For ultimate results try to wax for at least three to four consecutive months, without shaving in between, and we promise - your results will be incredible!

Does it hurt?

Some pain is to be expected with waxing. But we think the worst part is the anticipation. The good news is that our advanced waxing techniques minimizes any discomfort as much as possible. We will make you feel comfortable, relaxed and try not to rush during the session. Once your first time is over and you understand what to expect, it’s a breeze! To be honest, what makes a waxing painful depends on how thick your roots are inside, not how much hair you have. Another factor is the quality of wax used, and of course the experience and training your waxing specialist/Esthetician has. At Wax Haus and Skin, you are in great hands - we promise!

For your own comfort we suggest to take an ibuprofen 1 hour before your appointment (consult your doctor please). Regular waxing appointments weaken the hair and the results are definitely worth it.

Clients often say “That was so much better that I imagined” and “Oh wow, this feels soooo much better than my previous experience”! We also get a lot of hugs, laughter and high-fives!

Will waxing make me breakout?

When waxing is performed properly, the root of the hair is rapidly removed, triggering the body’s immune system to perceive the hair removal as “trauma”. You might experience hives which is very normal and typically the skin calms down within few hours. Waxing causes micro-openings of each hair follicle, especially if your have very thick roots, and you might be susceptible to bacterial reactions (whiteheads). As a result, a mild breakout may occur within the first few days after your session, and that’s why it’s crucial to keep the skin clean, cool, and dry.

In order to avoid any bacterial reactions and irritations, you will receive detailed instructions of how to care for your skin after any face or body waxing service. We carry specific products that we know work amazing to prevent and heal and skin reactions or breakouts.

Will my hair grow back thicker after waxing?

Absolutely NOT! This is one of the biggest waxing myths out there. Waxing does not stimulate hair follicles to produce more or thicker hair—but shaving can! Your hair growth, texture & color are determined by genetics and hormones, not by waxing. Waxing cannot change or alter these natural factors. Unlike shaving, which only cuts hair at the surface (leaving behind sharp, stubbly regrowth), waxing removes hair from the root, leading to smoother skin and longer-lasting results.

With consistent waxing sessions (without shaving or trimming in between), some hair follicles become weaker over time and may eventually stop producing hair altogether in certain areas.

How can I prevent ingrown hairs?

Here at Wax Haus and Skin our focus is your experience, results and education. You will receive ALL the information you need to care for your skin properly. If you follow our instructions, you won't have any ingrown hairs or irritations!

After any body wax is performed it's important to keep-up with exfoliation and keep your skin free of dead skin build up. Please wait five-ten days before you start exfoliating to prevent irritations. After five days you can start using a dry body brush or a loofah sponge daily to lightly exfoliate.

We also carry products that help to prevent and treat ingrown hairs.

I’m pregnant, is it OK to get a bikini or a Brazilian wax?

Congratulations! Yes, you absolutely can wax during pregnancy! We understand that grooming can become challenging as your belly grows. We recommend starting monthly waxing sessions at least four months before your due date to achieve the best results and minimize skin irritation. Many of our clients schedule their waxing appointments just days before delivery.

I just started my period and I have an appointment scheduled. Do I need to reschedule?

You can still wax during your menstrual cycle and we are completely comfortable providing your Bikini or Brazilian waxing service! It's a common occurrence, so there's no need to cancel your appointment or feel uncomfortable in any way. We simply request that you use a tampon or menstrual cup during your waxing session.

However, if you're experiencing severe cramps and would prefer to reschedule, we completely understand—just let us know as soon as possible.(Please note: If you tend to experience intense cramps, we suggest timing your waxing appointments accordingly to avoid our last-minute cancellations and fees).

POST WAXING CARE:

  • Slight pinking of the skin is normal and should disappear within 24-48 hours after your waxing appointment

  • Avoid heavy exercise, tanning beds, steam rooms, jacuzzi or any other heated sources for at least 48 hours after waxing

  • Don’t have sex (yep that’s right, we said it, no sex – sorry) for 24 hours after a Brazilian bikini wax. Except if you know how your skin reacts after wax

  • Avoid wearing tight clothing for the next 24 hours. Avoid fabrics like lycra and synthetic polyester. You best choice would be to wear cotton

  • If you experience any hives or breakouts use hydro-cortisone or an anti-inflammatory lotion

  • Exfoliate with a dry brush and if you are prone to ingrown hairs apply the recommended treatment product (such as “PFB”). Do this every few days until you see improvement. Don’t forget to hydrate your skin too

  • You will receive our “Aftercare Instructions" brochure for more information! If you have any questions about your waxing service or after care at home, please do not hesitate to call us or email us
